Weekend at Jamestown

Last school year we had an in house field trip from the Jamestown Settlement and they gave all the teachers a family pass.  We decided to go since we had a long weekend.  We took the scenic route and road on the ferry to Jamestown.  Garrett thought this was pretty neat and enjoyed climbing up to the top with daddy.

We even got to catch up with some old friends that have moved to Willamsburg and we got to see their newest addition...sweet Eleanor.

Garrett was really excited because where we stayed had a pool so he got to put his little floaty to good use and enjoy some pool time both the afternoon when we first got there and then again first thing the next morning.  He also loved eating the warm cookie they gave us first thing upon our arrival!

Here are a few pictures of our day in Jamestown.
Garrett really enjoyed going into the longhouses and touching some of the animal skins.

 We pretended to make cornmeal.

We got to watch a Powhatan Indian lady make a meal.

 On to the English settlement.

This was by far Garrett's favorite part...the ships!

It's certainly fun to get away for even a short bit.  Looking forward to our next trip!
