The Views of Fall in Central VA

It's become a tradition that every year we head off to the Peaks of Otter to enjoy the beautiful fall scenery.  This year we decided to stop at Drumheller's apple orchard.  We had wanted to take Garrett to a pumpkin patch and thought this would be a great place to start our fall Saturday adventure.

When we got to Drumheller's we got our tickets for the hayride to the pumpkin patch.  Garrett was so excited to ride on the wagon and when we got to the patch he was beside himself.  Poor thing kept tripping on the vines because he wasn't used to having to pick up his feet as high as he needed to when he walked through the patch.  After a few minutes we all had picked out the perfect pumpkin for each of us.

Next stop was to Peak of Otter.  We all enjoyed a peaceful car ride on the Blue Ridge Parkway.  Once we arrived at the Peaks, we enjoyed a yummy lunch at their restaurant and then took a short stroll around the lake.  On our way home we of course stopped to get a homemade apple fritter!
