Even though we live in a rural community we do have some amenities of a city such as an ice cream truck. But I can almost guarantee their ice cream truck is not quite like ours - the ice cream is FREE!

One of the local churches has invested in an ice cream truck and their mission is to get young people to learn scripture for ice cream.  We heard the typical ice cream truck music and I quickly grabbed Graham and got Garrett to put some shoes on and we made our way out waiting for the truck to pass our house.

Garrett was so excited.  This truck actually visited his preschool one afternoon and him along with his buddies were over the moon about getting a treat from the truck.  When I picked Garrett up they all came running to the playground fence to show off their ice cream...precious!

This time the lovely ice cream truck ladies were telling us how getting cream worked and since this was our first time at the truck they gave Garrett ice cream and a verse to learn.

The verse he needs to memorize is "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth."  Genesis 1:1.  By that evening he had it down and was even able to tell Nina and Papa as soon as they walked through the door.   Now let's see if he will be able to say it to the ice cream truck ladies!
