Christmas Time in Williamsburg

This was our first time visiting Williamsburg during the Christmas season.  We were more excited about the chance to stay more for than just a day.  We of course took advantage of being close to the outlets and did some shopping for all of us.  We even got to pick up a few things for baby Graham.  Garrett enjoyed picking out an outfit for him.  I think the highlight of the trip for Garrett was when Tom took him to the park at the timeshare.  It was a windy morning but that didn't stop them from having oodles of fun at the park.  Garrett was reluctant to leave and kept talking about returning.

We also splurged and got tickets to tour Duke of Gloucester Street.  Garrett even seemed to enjoy going into the buildings and "learning" new things.  I think he more or less enjoyed looking around more than anything.  I believe his most favorite was the visit in the Silversmith and Blacksmith shops.  He enjoyed watching them create things.  The silversmith even showed him them different stages in making a spoon.  We ended the evening in downtown Williamsburg with watching a drum and fife parade.

We also got to spend sometime with the Joyners while we were away.  Here is Emma Grace and Garrett exchanging Christmas presents with each other.  Even though our time together was during a difficult time for their families; the passing of both of Brad and Stephanie's Grandfather's, we were all reminded of what this time of year is all about.  Rejoicing in the many blessings the Lord has bestowed upon us and it is only through His son, Jesus, that we may have eternal life.
