A trip to the BIG city

This was our first trip as a family of 4.  Tom had to go to Washington D.C. for work for a couple of days and we decided to tag along and it just so happened to be his birthday! On our journey to the big city we stopped at Potomac Mills to stretch our legs and to eat dinner.  Here's Garrett taking a break on the carousel at the mall.  When it stopped he looked at it like "what just happened!" With our excellent team work Tom and I were able to quickly divert his attention and head out to dinner.  We enjoyed a nice dinner at the Cheesecake factory and of course we got cheesecake!  

I was a little nervous about tackling the big city with two by myself but it turned out to be an amazing day for us.  The weather was a little overcast but it actually made walking around pretty pleasant.  Tom got a hotel room walking distance from the Natural History Museum.  I took the boys out for a day visiting the museums.  We first went to the Natural History Museum to check out the dinosaurs, bugs, and animals.  Garrett loved every minute of it and Graham slept the entire time!  We had lunch at the museum and then made our way to the American History Museum to check out Kermit the Frog.  We then headed back to the hotel for a rest time.  All 3 of us enjoyed some down time.  Before daddy made it back "home" we went for another walk around the block.  That night for dinner we ate at the hotel's restaurant out on the patio.  It was a pretty good meal and the best thing about it was all we had to do was just go upstairs afterwards!

make sure Graham was still safe!  :) 

The next day Tom had just a short morning session and then we made our way to the National Zoo.  Garrett loved seeing the Elephants, the pandas, and the monkeys.  His favorite part was having daddy with us!  That boy loves his daddy and everything is better when daddy's there!  Unfortunately no pictures were taken at the zoo but I know we will visit again!

These pictures were taken as we waiting for Tom to return.  Garrett has gotten into getting his picture taken and then checking it out on the camera.  He wanted a picture of him with his stickers first and then a picture with his animals...Rover and Koala.
