On Monday we made our way to the Aquarium. Garrett was so excited to go see some sharks. When we got to the Aquarium we were pleasantly surprised with the exhibits they had. We got to see some river otters and the way they had things set up you could see them swim from the water to their den and then back to the water. Garrett enjoyed running back and forth to see the otters.
His favorite exhibit was the turtle rescue. He got to pretend he was a turtle doctor and was able to rescue and save a turtle!
While were were away Garrett turned 3! That morning Garrett and I went on a special walk together and then we surprised him with a few presents and headed to the pool for a morning full of fun.
After lunch time and a short nap we were able to take Garrett out to the Town Park in Duck. He loved every minute of it. I guess he just wanted to get out and run around. Love him!
Our favorite day in the Outer Banks was spent at the Roanoke Island Festival Park. We went on the Elizabeth II to see how the English settlers traveled to Roanoke Island. We even got to see how the Native Americans lived and also how the English set up their village. Garrett enjoyed this trip as well. Everything was hands on so he got to play and learn at the same time!

Even though the weather wasn't the best it was certainly nice to get away for awhile and relax. We needed a time as a family to relax and just enjoy each other. Looking forward to our next trip!
