We had the opportunity through church to be a host family to two girls and a chaperone from the Children of the World choir. We enjoyed an awesome concert performed by them and then the next day Garrett and I got to go to a pool party to pick up our two girls. We didn't know what to expect but we sure did have fun!
Here are a few pictures of Children of the World performance. It was moving seeing a variety of little kids from all over the world praising God. Garrett and Graham both enjoyed the music.
The two girls we got to host were Mary and Jorianne along with their chaperone Anna. They were just delightful to have. After picking them up from the pool party we brought them back home for dinner. got out Garrett's doctor kit and she really enjoyed playing with that. Jorianne enjoyed playing with the kitchen and cooking all sort of yummy creations.
We made them spaghetti and bread sticks for dinner and of course we ended our meal with brownie sundaes! They enjoyed creating their sundaes. Garrett was just so happy to have people at our house to play with! They enjoyed playing with little kids and they thought it was so neat to have a real baby around!
After dinner we watched a VeggieTale...Moe and the Big Exit. This movie took place in the Grand Canyon and the girls got all excited because they had been there before. It was fun hearing all the fun things they have gotten to experience while being a part of the Children of the World choir.
We were the the last performance for them and they would soon be heading back home. Even though their time with us was short the memory of this experience will last forever! We are so thankful we took the challenge to be a host family. We hope to have this opportunity again!
