Tom and I treated ourselves to a 5 day cruise. I was a little nervous about leaving the two boys but I knew that Gaggie and Papa would take excellent care of them. We ventured onto Florida a day before the cruise left. We enjoyed a nice dinner by the beach and a morning jog all before boarding the ship.
All aboard the Ruby Princess! Here we are in our muster station practicing our safety!
Bon Voyage! Florida...Bahamas here we come!
Our first stop was Princess Cays. We enjoyed a relaxing beach day and of course enjoyed some yummy food!
That evening we got ready for dinner but before we decided to watch the sunset. It was so beautiful! It was neat to see the sun just disappear!
After dinner we made our way out to the Movies Under the Stars. This was our first time watching a movie out on the big deck. The chairs were super comfy!
The next day we enjoyed a very restful day at sea. We started our day off with a jog on the track at the top of the ship. We discovered the track and realized that it was way less crowded than the gym. Then we made our way to the spa and indulged in a couples massage. It was a nice way to truly "escape" just how Princess wants your cruise experience to be!
That evening was the formal night where they bring out the champagne waterfall and everyone gets all dressed up. This time I decided to be cheesy and stand up with the captain and pour champagne in the waterfall.
Enjoying our special time together.
Our next stop is Grand Turk. I have always wanted to go to Turks and Caicos and I finally got the opportunity. We began our day with snorkeling and then we had a hop on and off tour of the island.
This was one of the best snorkeling experiences that we ever had. The guides were very friendly and truly wanted our experience to be the best. Tom was able to get some really good shots of the coral and fish. We were even lucky enough to see a nurse shark up close and personal. The tour guides had food for the shark so the shark stayed close by. We were even able to touch it!
After we got a quick lunch on the ship we made our way to the hop on and off tour of Grand Turk. This tour was more like a hop on and hope to make it back to the ship in time experience! We took our time at the museum and looked around all the little shops around the little town on our first (and last) stop. We just waited and waited and waited for the bus. We finally decided to get another taxi and told him our problem and he was nice enough to get a hold of the bus driver and we were able to take the bus back to the ship. All in all the day was great and we got to learn and see a lot of new things.
Things you do while waiting for a bus...strike a pose of course!
I guess the "express" is on island time. :)
Just thankful for these views while we waited for our bus.
This was the capsule that John Glenn - the first man to orbit earth. It touched down in Grand Turk. They had a pretty cool exhibit at the cruise terminal.
Thanks for a great day Grand Turk!
Later that evening they had the deck party.
Our last day was another relaxing day on the ship. We enjoyed our little "time out" from reality but we sure were ready to go home and hug our babies!
