Relay for Life 2012

After Tom got off work we made our way to the high school for Relay for Life.  This is not only a way for us to gather and remember those who have lost their life to cancer but also so celebrate the lives that have been saved from cancer.  Last year I had the privilege of teaching a super strong boy that has fought and won the battle against brain cancer.  He is such a precious young man and last year we started a tradition with walking at least one lap together.  I cherish this time and especially this year, each step was a reminder of God is so good.  We talked about his past school year and all the things that he is looking forward to.  Can't wait for next years lap!

Of course with any gathering we must have food!  We were responsible for bringing watermelon and cookies.  Another one of my previous students complimented me on my perfectly triangle shaped watermelon.  Gotta love kids!

Here is Garrett enjoying one of his favorite things to eat!  Please take note of how perfect the watermelon was cut!  :)
